Finance qualified, Michael initially held a number of roles across a variety of companies – WS&C, Electrolux, NSK and BPI before joining Cummins eighteen years ago. After a three-year spell of leading, managing and sponsoring Six Sigma projects, the opportunity to join corporate risk insurance team arose in 2007. He is responsible for leading all aspects of risk insurance across the corporation. Reporting to managing director – global risk, Michael leverages a ‘hub and spoke’ vendor-partner service model to deliver everything from broker support to crisis-responding coaching to each of the regional area business organisations (LATAM, Europe, India, Africa-Middle-East, & Asia-Pac). He acts as risk advisor to regional board of directors and coordinates regional risk identification with VP: Europe and senior leadership. With a particular interest in crisis-management, he leads the company’s global BCP stress-test (business resilience) work and serves as a member of the regional crisis-response team. With clear focus on three key deliverables – insurance, claims management & risk mitigation, he is supported by Vermont based captive, which has been writing several local lines since 2011.
